Each year we review our uniform policy. Please note, that guidelines on jewellery and hair styles have been added to the policy for September 2024. This mirrors the uniform expectations for middle schools in Whitley Bay.
Reception – Year 4
- Royal blue school sweatshirt/cardigan with the Whitley Lodge school logo.
- White polo shirts/ blouses / shirts
- Grey skirts / pinafore dresses / shorts / trousers
- Blue gingham dresses can be worn in the summer term
- Black shoes– should be plain black and easy to clean.
- Royal blue book bag or plain backpack – just big enough to fit an A4 folder
Jewellery & Hair Styles
- Wrist watches can be worn but no smart watches
- Small stud earrings only and no earrings on PE days
- Hair styles should be neat and tidy
- Hair colours should be their natural hair colour only
- Tramlines, skin fades, patterns, shaved heads are not permitted
- Hair accessories should be plain. No large bows, flowery hairbands etc
PE Kit
On their designated PE day(s), children come to school in PE Kit:
- school jumper/cardigan
- plain white T-shirt
- black shorts/back joggers/black leggings
- plain black/plain white trainers (unbranded or one colour including logo)
- waterproof jacket for outdoors.
Please note that we only ask for the school logo on school sweatshirts/cardigans.
These can be purchased from Anne Thomas. You can buy these pre-printed or source them from another supplier and Anne Thomas will add the logo for a minimal cost. School logos on other items of clothing are optional.
Pre-used jumpers and cardigans are available in the school entrance at any time during the day. School sweatshirts and polo shirts can be ordered directly from:
