26th March 2021
I am writing to let you know that I have made the decision to leave my role as Headteacher, at the end of this academic year in July.
The decision has not been an easy one as Whitley Lodge First School has been a huge part of my life for the past thirteen years. However, I feel that the time is now right for me personally to hand over the leadership of the school.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I will truly miss all of the lovely children I have had the pleasure of seeing grow and mature.
I have also had the pleasure of working alongside the most supportive and dedicated school staffing team and I will really miss them too.
Thank you too for your support over the years, especially with all of the many fundraising activities. You have been amazingly generous and as a result, our facilities at school just keep getting better.
The past year has certainly been challenging and I am sorry that due to the pandemic, we haven’t been able to hold all of the many events that make school life so special. However, I am sure that the next academic year will see a return to a more normal calendar of events!
It has been a privilege to be Headteacher of Whitley Lodge First School. I will leave in July with the confidence that the school will continue to flourish and remain the special place that it is within the whole community.
The Governing Body will be meeting in relation to the recruitment for my role and I will of course keep you informed with regard to this.
On a completely different matter, please can I ask you to take account of the following information with regard to Test and Trace.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19, between 26th – 29th March, please contact the school immediately via email: email@example.com and provide the following information:
Name of child
Date of the COVID-19 test
Does the child have symptoms? Yes or No
What date did the symptoms start?
What date did the child last attend school?
It is very important that you provide this information so that we can identify any close contacts that your child may have had in school during their infectious period. We will then follow up close contacts and request that they isolate for 10 days to prevent further transmission of COVID-19.
From Monday 29th March, parents and carers must follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
Please note that you should also report any close contacts that your child has outside the school setting through NHS Test and Trace.
Finally! I hope that you all manage to have a great Easter holiday and that the weather allows you to enjoy lots of lovely outside activities.
We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 12th April when everything opens!
