Swimming lessons start for KS2

Year 3/4 Swimming 2025

Children in Years 3 and 4 attend swimming lessons as part of their curriculum which will take place during the Summer Term.

School will be paying for the lessons and as we don’t require transport due to the children walking to and from Waves, there is no cost to parents. However, we do require parent helpers (DBS not required).

Lessons begin on the afternoon of Monday 28^th April and will be every week (with the exception of Monday 5th May) until the final session on Monday 14^th July.  As Mrs Haycock’s class will attend the third session between 2:15pm and 2:45pm, the children may arrive back at school slightly later than 3:20pm.  Please ensure swimming kit is sent with your child on Monday mornings.  Swimming times are:

• Green Class – Mrs Donaldson/Mrs Smith – 1:15pm – 1:45pm
• Orange Class – Miss Surowiak – 1:45pm – 2:15pm
• Red Class – Mrs Haycock – 2:15pm – 2:45pm

Swimming kit:

Girls – 1-piece bathing costume, towel and goggles (optional)

Boys – Swimming trunks / shorts (above the knee), towel and goggles (optional)

In accordance with North Tyneside Council Health and Safety swimming guidance, earrings must not be worn during swimming sessions. If your child cannot remove their own earrings, please remove them at home on swimming days.
